I am a 89 year-old WW2 Navy PBY pilot (VPB 43, Dutch Harbor, Aleutian Islands Theater) with a Novice license (1978) that my son keeps renewing for me. I still know my Morse Code which I originally learned as a Boy Scout many years ago. Flew many 1400+ nautical mile sorties to the Japanese Kurile Islands from Attu Island at the tip of the Aleutian chain.
Never had a QSL card of my own before since I still have no rig of my own. It would be a kick to have a photo QSL of me in my VPB-43 40th Reunion ballcap to trade at hamfests and Ass’n of Naval Aviation squadron meetings, and perhaps for a rare on air QSO from another’s station or a club station from time to time… Best regards to all.

I think it’s unique to have QSL cards. I remember I was a little boy and my daddy had 100’s and 1000’s of QSL cards and I would sit there and look at them and read them to see where they were from in this world. It’s amazing how 36 years has passed and I would follow my daddy’s foot step in Ham Radio and electronics. Only my dad could see me now from the heaven above. RIP until we chit chat again dad.
Another great giveaway, 73!
