on the Internet.
I have been researching the Baofeng radios I would like to find someone who has one. This is an interesting way to introduce the newsletter and radio. We call that a twofer. hi hi
This is great. I very seriously considered buying the Baofeng UV-5R Dual-Bander earlier this year. I ended up buying a mobile rig for my truck instead, but I keep wondering if the HT would be getting more use just by nature of its portability. Sigh… Here’s to another shot at the dream.
Thanks to Import Communications for the chance.
Looks like a great value.
Good luck.
It’s time I had an HT…thanks in advance.
This is a Great Radio I have been told, I Would be happy to win such a nice prize.
Thank you
Cool contest! Thanks!
I think it is GREAT for Ham radio as a hobby to have feature-filled radios at such an affordable price. I hear the importer has been working with clubs and Hamfests to make these available for door prizes and even to give new Hams a first radio.THAT is what Ham Radio is all about. Thanks for being there with a great radio and for being such a great advocate of Amateur Rasio!
Count me in. thanks!

As a newly minted ham (less than one month) who is at the moment radio-less, I’d like to thank AmatuerRadio.com and Ed at ImportCommunications for providing the chance to win this particularly nice radio. Should I win it, I’ll sing your praises from the highest mountain (SOTA) and if not, I’ll still talk you up to radio friends.
Thanks for the nice radio to be donated.

I recently would very like to have this portable because it does narrow band
Sure wish they would come out with an inexpensive HF rig.
In the old days, I would attach a wad of chewing gum to my paper entry in such drawings as these….. how do I help myself in the electronic age???
Oh well, I will rely on the tried and true… crossing my fingers!
I enjoy your newsletter whatever the outcome of the ‘drawing’.
I love amateur radio and can always use a new rig.
The deal is that if I happened to win, I will donate it to a new ham
in our club that doesn’t have one.
Thank you,
Clem Cantu WA6TVQ
What a great idea for a contest! Definitely will be styling at Dayton with a new HT if I win!

I have read and heard mostly praise for this HT. Any criticism I have read or heard, in my opinion, is unjustified considering its cost. For the price of a replacement battery in a big three HT, one can get a battery including radio!
Good luck to all!
Please enter me in the drawing. THanks.

Sometimes it’s good to follow the herd !
This blog is my favorite. Good stuff every day.
The radios from China are a real game changer. They seem to be well made and have lots of features.
THANKS
I currently own a very well used 2 meter 440 HT. I use it mobile, portable, and even as my “base”..(brand name being with held on purpose…)I have talked to and over heard a few Hams in the New England corridor speaking highly of the new influx of Chinese radios!! I have seen them and heard them and if I had the extra $$$$$$$$$ I would invest. Good equipment and probably will only get better.
Sure would like a new HT. I also enjoy AmateurRadio.com, keep up the good work
Would love to have my own HT instead of borrowing my husbands.
Thanks for the chance to win one.
Judy
I am hearing some good reports from owners of these radios! Hope to own one soon!

The new generation of amateur radio people will be more up to date in electronics than we did fifty years ago because of all the new media.
With prices of radios comming down and the elimination of the code test, we are starting to attract more hams

This is an awesome chance for a nice radio. Happy QSO-ing!
What a way to try for a radio for my birthday !! I am about to move into newer house so this be a nice thing to have while moving between houses. 1 for me and 1 for my son to get tbhings done. this way I can pack all my base radios up and install mobile back in car and be really covered for a move.
last move I did I lost the car in front of us after maybe 1 mile. they took off ahead of us got lost pulled over to watch for us. so they saw us pass them and got behind us. found out son hit the knobs on mobile and changes freq’s so he would not have heard us at all. hahah. ding bats do exist just keep them away from my radios !!
Would be nice to have it. Thanks for oportunity!

Have a Quansheng radio, and love it, would love to try another brand to compare.
Nice looking radio.
Cute little radio!
My UV3R Mark2 is a nice rig but it is lacking at some things we take for granted. Things like a drop-in charger and better receive audio. Also the display can be rough to see in some locations. The preliminary picture of the UV5R shows a more rugged unit with some nice specs to boot.
Thank you, Import Communications for sponsoring this!
Nice contest and thanks.
Interested to check this item out. Thanks for the contest!
Another radio would be nice….contests are GREAT!
Like the price of this radio.

Good product, net idea to have a contest to get one free.

Thank you very much for holding this raffle.
I have a Wouxun and it does the job pretty good at a very fair price, but I spoke to someone yesterday who normally uses a Wouxun, but had borrowed a friend’s UV-5R, and it we all noticed the improvement in his audio. He also said the receive audio was better as well.
This sounds like a fantastic radio for the price.
Thanks for your support to Ham Radio.
Found your site from another ham – very interesting!!!!
Thanks for the opportunity. 73 de KF6U
Appreciate the opportunity to win my first amateur radio
This is a great little radio. My XYL is pushing to get one for herself (KI6GCX) and my son (KJ6QGV) is also intrested. The existing handheld (Yeasu VX150) is rugged but the lack of the 440 band limits its use by RACES/ARES groups. Keep up the good work.

This has got to be one of the most cost effective radios around. Any concerns about the radio are minimized by dealing with a known US dealer.
