AS A HAM OPERATOR FOR SIXTY FIVE YEARS, I HAVE SEEN THE LONG TERM EFFECTS OF RULE CHANGES.
THERE HAVE BEEN MANY BENEFICIAL. SOME NOT AS MUCH.THE CURRENT REGULATORY POWER OF THE COMMISSION IS WORKING AND, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, SHOULD NOT BE ALTERED OTHER THAN TO ACCOMMODATE NECESSARY APPLICATIONS / ENFORCEMENT OF ITS PT. 97 TITLE 18 CFR.
THE EXISTING CONTROLS / SERVICES PROVIDED BY THIS COMMISSION, BOTH PERSONAL AND COMMERCIAL, ARE NECESSARY AS TIME’S PROGRESSION HAS MANDATED, TO SERVE AS A VITAL ARM OF OUR GOVERNMENT. TO LOSE THE QUALITY OF THE CURRENT SYSTEM WOULD BE DETRIMENTAL TO NOT ONLY THE COMMERCIAL ASPECT, BUT THE PRIVATE ASPECT. PLEASE CONSIDER THE SERVICES IN THE PAST PERFORMED IN ALL GOVERNING AREAS OF THE F.C.C.
THE AMATEUR OPERATOR PROVIDES COMMUNICATION WHEN OTHER MEANS ARE NOT AVAILABLE WITHOUT REMUNERATION FROM THE PUBLIC, THE GOVERNMENT, OR THE PRIVATE SECTOR.
I PERSONALLY WORKED THE “500 YEAR FLOOD” OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER, TORNADOES, SEARCH AND RESCUE, COMMUNITY EVENTS AND OTHER, UPON REQUEST. THEREFORE I “KNOW WHEREIN I SPEAK” ABOUT THE MERITS OF THE F.C.C. AS IT IS CURRENTLY.
With sorry I am informing you that VE4 LFN is now a silent key.
Sue Thompson.
