QRZ.com to offer logbook

QRZ.com has just announced that it will be making available an online logbook. It will also be offering an awards program and will be organizing a contest to recognize the first person to make confirmed contacts with 100 other QRZ users.

I like QRZ.com and think this is a great idea. I don’t know whether they will be providing an API for logging programs to post entries to the log in real time but if they do then I want my program KComm to support it so I have volunteered my services as a tester.

Bye bye Beaconworld

The Beaconworld website will be closing down in May. If you’ve never heard of it before, neither had I until I read about it in M0XPD’s blog. But having visited the site, it seems to be an excellent and comprehensive resource for anyone interested in beacon DXing. It’s a shame that it will disappear even though it is being closed for reasons that I can understand.

Have a look while it’s still here. Perhaps someone will step in and offer to take over the site and carry it on, or at least to preserve the pages as they are.
