Request for Information–Apps

If you own a smartphone and/or tablet device and use any of the amateur radio related apps designed for these devices, I would like to hear from you.  I’m conducting research for an upcoming episode of the Practical Amateur Radio Podcast (PARP) and would like to know what apps you are using, how you use them and how they work for you.

Please contact me via the email address listed on my QRZ page.  Thank you!

Jerry (KDØBIK)

    Jerry,

I don’t see an email listed on your QRZ page. Is [email protected] ok?

A smart phone and amateur radio? Huh?

  • Rob W8MRL:

Definitely! They are great for satellite pass-over tracking, APRS in areas where igate stations don’t exist, quick QRZ look-ups when operating in the field, working PSK-31 when in the field without a computer and a soundcard, electronic logging when in the field. They are great to look up technical information when mobile or portable.

Oh, yeah they make phone calls and take great photo’s too.

    You should look into one.
